"I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He brought me up and out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay; and He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. And He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; many will see and fear, and will trust in the Lord." Psalm 40:1-3
The songs on this project reflect our hearts' cries to the Lord during times of hurting and rejoicing. The lyrics share life struggles and God's promises on which we can securely stand. We're praying that because of these new songs, 'many will see and fear, and will trust in the Lord'.
Amidst deep suffering, we cry out, 'Why me? How long? Have you forgotten me? Lord, won't You at least change my heart, so that I can finally embrace Your will with joy?'
Along with pouring out our hearts to the Lord, there is an essential prerequisite to 'the joy that comes in the morning.' The step that cannot be bypassed or faked is humility. Humility that says, 'You are my God, I am Your bondservant; be it done to me according to Your word.'
Only then does bitterness release its grip from our hearts. Only then does anger dissolve into grateful tears. Only then does pride's veil fall from our eyes enabling us to cry out with Job. 'My ears had heard of You, but now my eyes have seen You.' (Job 42:5) Only then will we experience and know God at a deeper level. And then ~ our hearts will dance again!
